The U.S. Armed Forces have numerous facilities in and around San Antonio; Fort Sam Houston is the only one within the city limits. Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, Lackland AFB/Kelly Field Annex, Camp Bullis, and Camp Stanley are outside the city limits. Kelly Air Force Base operated out of San Antonio until 2001, when the airfield was transferred to Lackland AFB. The remaining parts of the base were developed as Port San Antonio, an industrial/business park and aerospace complex. Stone Oak is an affluent master-planned, deed restricted, community in far north central San Antonio, Texas, USA. Terrell Hills is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States; it is located 5 miles (8 km) northeast of downtown San Antonio. As of the 2010 census Terrell Hills had a population of 4,878. The community is named after Dr. Frederick Terrell, a local&nbsp;bank&nbsp;president who had served as&nbsp;mayor&nbsp;of San Antonio in 1901. Development of the community began in 1919, when Dr. Terrell sold 22.5 acres (9.1&nbsp;ha) of property to a private association called the Terrell Hills Community. This organization managed the community until 1939, when it incorporated as a municipality. In 1945, the City of San Antonio attempted to&nbsp;annex&nbsp;the new municipality without permitting an&nbsp;election&nbsp;in either Terrell Hills or San Antonio, but Terrell Hills successfully sued to block the annexation. Dignowity Hill was San Antonio&rsquo;s first exclusive residential suburb. The area was settled by Dr. Anthony Michael Dignowity, a physician and Czech immigrant, who built his family home on a hill to the east of town and called it Harmony House. During the latter part of the nineteenth century, Dignowity Hill, as it became known, was home to prominent San Antonio merchants and business owners who constructed large estates. Dignowity Hill was an exclusive and affluent residential area in San Antonio due to its high elevation, proximity to downtown, the size of the lots, and lack of city water, which required residents to construct expensive water collecting systems.

Castle Hills, The town borders Uptown San Antonio to the west and is about 7 miles (10 miles driving distance) north of Downtown San Antonio. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), of which, 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Castle Hills is an independent municipality, completely surrounded by the city of San Antonio. It is bisected into a northern and southern half by interstate highway loop I-410. It is located at the southern end of Northwest Military Highway, the northern end being located at U.S. Army Camp Bullis.

Bulverde, Texas is a city in Comal County. Bulverde dates back to the period 2,500 to 600 B.C. when the Native Americans lived in the area. The area was known for their arrowheads known as Bulverde Point, which can still be found in the city today. In 1880&rsquo;s, Bulverde was a great stopping point for travelers. Travelers come to Bulverde from all over to escape the demanding city lifestyle. The tranquil, soothing atmosphere in Bulverde is difficult to find in todays society. Bulverde, Texas is known as home to MLB Baseball Player Jason LaRue, musician Augie Meyers, and former republican member of the Texas House of Representatives Nathan Macias.
Opportunities for recreation, adventure, and fun are abundant in Bulverde. Bulverde is home to amazing cycling and running roads. The hilly terrain is filled with remarkable views of Texas Hill Country. Live oak trees and blooming wildflowers often line the roads of Bulverde. Bulverde is only an 18 minute drive away from Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch. This state park is one of the most beautiful parks in Texas. Visitors can take pleasure in tubing, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, picnicking, and canoeing. Honey Creek State Natural Area is a guided walking tour in Guadalupe River State Park. Individuals on the tour can see two miles worth of incredible flora and fauna. Enjoy a traditional Texas rodeo every Saturday night at Tejas Rodeo Company. The Tejas Rodeo Company does an excellent job of providing a thrilling and entertaining experience for all of their guests. Enjoy this family friendly atmosphere filled with bull riders, barrel racers, mutton buston, and dancing.

Bulverde

Boerne is a city in and the county seat of Kendall County, Texas, United States, in the Texas Hill Country. Boerne was named in honor of German author and publicist Ludwig B&ouml;rne. The population of Boerne was 10,471 at the 2010 census, and in 2018 the estimated population was 17,106.
Boerne came into being as an offshoot of the Texas Hill Country&nbsp;Free Thinker&nbsp;Latin Settlements, resulting from the&nbsp;Revolutions of 1848 in the German states. Those who came were&nbsp;Forty-Eighters, intellectual liberal abolitionists who enjoyed conversing in&nbsp;Latin&nbsp;and who believed in utopian ideals that guaranteed basic human rights to all.&nbsp;They reveled in passionate conversations about science, philosophy, literature, and music.&nbsp;The Free Thinkers first settled&nbsp;Castell,&nbsp;Bettina,&nbsp;Leningen,&nbsp;and Schoenburg in&nbsp;Llano County. These experimental communities were supported by the&nbsp;Adelsverein&nbsp;for one year. The communities eventually failed due to lack of finances after the Adelsverein funding expired, and conflicts of structure and authorities. Many of the pioneers from these communities moved to&nbsp;Sisterdale, Boerne, and&nbsp;Comfort.
As of the&nbsp;census&nbsp;of 2000, 6,178 people, 2,292 households, and 1,613 families resided in the city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 1,061.1 people per square mile (409.9/km2). The 2,466 housing units averaged 423.5 per square mile (163.6/km2). The&nbsp;racial makeup of the city was 94.76% White, 0.36% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 3.29% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 19.44% of the population. Of the 2,292 households, 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.6% were not families. About 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the city, the population was distributed as 26.0% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.1 males.

Boerne

Balcones Heights is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,941 at the 2010 census. Balcones Heights is considered by some locals to be a district of San Antonio, despite the fact that the community was incorporated in 1948 to avoid annexation into the city. Balcones Heights is an enclave of San Antonio since San Antonio city limits now completely surround it. Balcones Heights is located at&nbsp;29&deg;29&prime;23&Prime;N&nbsp;98&deg;32&prime;53&Prime;W (29.489729, -98.547927),&nbsp;9 miles northwest of Downtown San Antonio. According to the&nbsp;United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6&nbsp;km2). None of the area is covered with water.
As of the&nbsp;census&nbsp;of 2000, there were 3,016 people, 1,437 households, and 708 families residing in the city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 4,674.6 people per square mile (1,791.5/km2). There were 1,539 housing units at an average density of 2,385.4 per square mile (914.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 69.66%&nbsp;White, 5.37%&nbsp;African American, 1.56%&nbsp;Native American, 1.13%&nbsp;Asian, 0.03%&nbsp;Pacific Islander, 17.41% from&nbsp;other races, and 4.84% from two or more races.&nbsp;Hispanic&nbsp;or&nbsp;Latino of any race were 69.60% of the population. There were 1,437 households, out of which 27.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 26.2% were&nbsp;marriwd couples&nbsp;living together, 18.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.7% were non-families. 43.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.10 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 23.7% under the age of 18, 14.5% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.1 males. The median income for a household in the city was $21,452, and the median income for a family was $27,074. Males had a median income of $21,209 versus $18,944 for females. The&nbsp;per capita income&nbsp;for the city was $13,529. About 18.1% of families and 21.1% of the population were below the&nbsp;poverty line, including 23.6% of those under age 18 and 15.2% of those age 65 or over.
